What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra is a dermal filler that is used to add volume and smooth out wrinkles in the skin. It is made of poly-L-lactic acid, which is a biocompatible synthetic material that is gradually absorbed by the body over time. Sculptra is injected into the skin via a fine needle, and it works by stimulating collagen production, which helps to plump and firm the skin. The effects of Sculptra can last for several months or even up to two years. It is typically used to treat wrinkles and lines on the face, including the nasolabial folds (lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth) and marionette lines (lines running from the corners of the mouth to the chin).
After identifying the injection sites, your surgeon will deposit the Sculptra® gel there. In order to achieve even, consistent, natural results, multiple injections are required.
As a result, you will notice that wrinkles are reduced immediately after using the gel. Usually, collagen production takes several weeks, so full results are not immediate.
