What is brachioplasty?
This procedure is commonly referred to as an “arm lift” because it involves lifting the upper arm area. Skin laxity and fat pockets are common in this area. You may be a suitable candidate if you notice tissue wriggling when you shake your arms over your head or wave at someone.
An arm lift may be necessary for several reasons. Liposuction may not be necessary if you simply want to contour your arms. The procedure may be beneficial if you have lost a great deal of weight, have excess skin, or are past your prime.
In this procedure, excess skin and fat are removed from the upper arms, and the underlying tissue is tightened to create a more toned and shapely appearance. The procedure is often performed on individuals whose upper arms are sagging due to weight loss, aging, or genetics. Typically, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia, with incisions made along the inside or back of the upper arm. In order to promote healing and reduce swelling, patients may need to wear a compression garment for several weeks after brachioplasty.
